bike check and questions with THE CHRIS HUGHES!

age: 24

height: 6 ft 3

home location: Edgewater, FL

years riding: Probably almost 10 id say

what got you into bmx?
Watching the X-games when I was little, I remember being sooo siked on watching the dirt, so a couple of friends and I went out and made trails in the woods, I never even touched a skatepark the first year.

why does everyone call you New Smyrna Chris?
Honestly I really have no clue because I lived in Edgewater, FL for 18 years before people started calling me that. I actually just recently moved to new smyrna within the last year or so, haha.

what is a thunder punch?
I dunno, one time you (James Covington) were making fun of me and I didnt like it so I turned around and blasted to in the arm and I knocked you on your ass, after that you started calling it that. To this day I still use the thunder punch to shut you up.hahaha.

why are you so tall?
I think its all the hormones they put in chicken these days.

how big are the rims on your car?
20's BABYYYYYYY. Aint got no finity (whatup Ian)

who do you ride with on a regular basis?
I ride with a really chill group of guys. Ryan Flesch, Ian Phillips, Richard Price, Nick Smarjesse, Dylan, Shaun Frier, and a few others that randomly show up. I try to ride with you but most of the time you coolguy the shit outta me, jk big guy.( -too busy at the skatepark!-JAMES)

where do you ride on a regular basis?
Well as of lately its all of volusia county: daytona beach just opened a good skate plaza style park, daytona street, deland street, and mesh (r.i.p. soon) even though its hard to get out there bc its like an hour away.

what comments could you make on the state of bmx right now?
Too many hipsters and kids following the trends, but other than that shit is really sweet.

why do you ride bmx?
I love it. I try to ride everyday, when my back isnt killin me. I dont know what id be if i didnt ride. Prolly play football or some other funboy sport.

what is going on in your life outside or riding?
As of right now im in school trying to get my AS in pre-radiology. Other than that chillin with my lady friend. Also layin around a lot because of torn ligaments in my back.

why did you want to ride for native?
Youre my boi and anything that you do I want to support and be apart. Plus youve got a lot of sweet ideas that I think a lot of people are going to be siked on.

whats up with the team? who, on the team, do you know?
Everyone. Ive known Bryce for like 6 years, same with Ryan Herbach, and practically lived on Bill Mims couch for awhile. We all get along real good, I think its going to be like a family. Trips should be awesome.
