THE ELUSIVE BILL MIMS!

I am rather excited to have Bill as a part of the team. I remember seeing him ride before i knew him and thinking that he was one of the wildest looking guys ever! I mean... he had the tightest pants i had ever seen, a sleeveless-dirty as hell GG Allin shirt, and wild mohawk hair. On top of that he could shred anything he put his bike on. But, once i got to know him i realized that there are a group of people out there who want nothing more from life but a good time. Bill is the epitome of a good time haver, it that makes any sense at all? So, naturally when i tried to put a team together i called him up and asked him if he wanted to be a part of Native... He, like the rest of the dudes, said something along the lines of HELL YEAH! I recently sent him some questions to familiarize the readers with Mr. Mims and this is what i got in return. Thanks Bill!

Photos stolen from his myspace. so sorry to anyone who took a photo i stole!

age:24

hometown:Harleyville, SC

current home:Charleston, SC but Atlanta, GA soon.

years riding:got my first bike when I was 9, so 15 years I guess.

bill, how would you describe yourself? Um, well I guess I'm a pretty simple fellow, clumsy, and extremely akward at times. A lot of people think I'm a dick?

why do you ride bmx? I have been doing it for so long it's just part of my life. I couldn't imagine not riding, I would be useless...Besides riding a good set of trails with some rad people is the best feeling ever.

what is going on in your life other than bmx? job, hobbies.... Well I am currently a Parts Manager for a motorcycle shop here in SC. Outside of work and riding I hang out with the lady friend, ride my motorbike and cook.

do you or have you gone to school? Yeah after high school I went to the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Orlando. With the way the motorcycle industry is going I am planning on going back for culinary, which I am really pumped on!

what do you think of bmx as a whole? Oh man you just opened a can worms!! I'm pretty bitter when it comes to bmx today. I would rather see someone do a deece table and go fast rather than flairs and a million tailwhips. Not enough originality..

I know you have done your share of traveling.... where are some of your favorite places you have been? riding and not riding? I definitely miss living in casselberry, those were some of the best times ever! Maine and New Hampshire are awesome, everyone is crazy there. Northern California is pretty sick but I wanna check out the real northwest soon.

do you know everyone on the team? how and when did you meet the other guys?
Yeah I have known everyone on the team for years now, we all met either at the casselberry trails or mission. I got to see Bryce a few weeks ago but it has been a while for everyone else, so I will hopefully see you fella's soon.

do you like the team?
Oh man I couldn't be anymore psyched to be apart of this team!! The best group of dudes ever! Trips are gonna be sweet as hell and non stop laughing!!PSYCHED!

finely.... what is in the future for Bill Mims??
Hopefully get into school so I can this career going for myself. Definitely stay on my bike and try to progress. Overall just try to have a smile on my face, keep up with the lady and stay happy.

Oh yeah and ride my shitty motorbike across the country.HA!

A little video...

So, heres an edit that surfaced of a few friends of mine....Nick Smarjesse, Dylan kawolski, Ian Phillips, Ric Price, Ryan Flesch, and oh yeah..... CHRIS HUGHES!!! check it out, its pretty bangin.

also, look at the abnormal change in font that happened for some unknown reason!

ESPN NEWS!

Haha, Brian Tunney with the ESPN bmx blog posted some info about the Native frames. I am pretty siked that he showed some interest in the frame. That guy has been shredding for a long time. Hopefully i can get with him some time soon to get him more information about the future of Native bmx. Check out the page on the ESPN blog here:
